In view of the need for a vehicle to transmit the timeless cultural heritage of India by maintaining the GURU-SHISHYA parampara  ‘ NUPURA NINAADA NRITHYA ACADEMY’ is started by Ms.Shwetha Lakshman to train young artists in Bharatanatyam In its pristine form. The Nupura Ninaada Nrithya Academy is established by Shwetha Lakshman with the blessings from her parents and well wishers in January 2009.

This Academy encompasses Mrs/ Mr. Lakshman , Ms.Shilpa Laksman  and Mr.Krishna Murthy as Trustees with Ms. Shwetha lakshman as Perfroming Director.

NUPURA NINAADA NRITHYA ACADEMY  is established with sole intention of preserving the traditional classical dance from of ‘BHARATANATYAM’ in its formal purity.

The Salient Features and Objectives of the Academy are:

Preservation of traditional Bharatanatyam classical dance in its formal purity.

• Choreographing and presenting on stage and in visual media the dance dramas with new themes along with solo performances.
• Acamedically and practically train students in Bharatanatyam aimed at various examinations conducted by central and state governments along with short-term courses, workshops and intensive courses for local and visiting students from within India and abroad.
• Research projects, seminars, guest – lectures to improve vistas of the students and trained.
• Publication and production of books, audio and video cassettes  relevant to cultural activities for deeper study.

Academy strives to organize Dance and Music Festivals, Seminars, Lecture Sessions by Scholars and various cultural activities on a yearly basis.

Academy strives to teach Bharatanatyam to financially backward students.

Academy looks forward to generous financial help from art lovers and philanthropists to achieve these objectives and keep alive the cultural heritage of India.
